The studios are set in an old world village near Sevenoaks and have been converted from what were the stables and outbuildings of the general stores. The Pottery was established over thirty years ago by Tessa Oates for the production of studio ceramics and has since developed into a centre for the teaching of pottery and clay modelling. Classes are held in a pleasant, noninstitutional rural environment.

Courses cater for those who wish, at a similar cost per hour, to avail themselves of excellent facilities and generally devote more time to their work than is normally allowed for in traditional adult education and where the necessary equipment and materials are provided.

During the year we also run a number of Raku pottery days.

The exhibition will show the variety and scope of the work produced by our students, from beginners to advanced, and representing all the different glazes and finishes achieved with pottery and clay modelling, including Raku and smoke fired pieces, demonstrating the huge variety of items that can be produced from clay.
