Outline Programme
10.00
Coffee and introductory talk on
Raku and glazes.
10.30 to 12.00 approx
Glaze work. Advice and help will be given to make the most of the beautiful glazes.
12.00 onwards
Kilns will be loaded and fired continuously throughout the afternoon and every one is encouraged to participate.
4.00 approx.
Last firing.
To make the most of the day you will need approximately four pieces of work bisque fired to at least 1000'c.
(Production days for these pieces can be organised if needed).
Advice notes are available on request. These contain a list of suitable clays to use, points to consider when making work for Raku firing, and further details about the format of the day.
Lunch
There are pubs nearby serving meals and sandwiches, although most people prefer to bring a packed lunch, so as not to miss anything. Hot drinks are provided in the studio.
Fee for day £40
(CCS Students £36)
£15 deposit on booking.
There is a maximum of 15 students for each day and there will be a small charge for fired work.
